The provision of vehicle removal (including abandoned vehicles) on highways within the boundaries of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and enforcement of illegally parked vehicles on Council owned housing land managed by Tower Hamlets Homes (THH). LB Tower Hamlets owns a car pound comprising 71 spaces from which the pound management and payment centre currently operate. This is based in Commercial Road, E1 0HJ. However, the premises may not be available throughout the lifetime of the contract so the Council may need the service provider to provide their own pound and payment centre facilities. There is currently no definitive date for the closure of the Car Pound but, if required, the move would have to be exercised within a notice period of 6 months. Related costs and methodologies for the transfer of the pound shall be required as part of the bidders' tender submissions and will be assessed accordingly.
