HEV Lot 1 Flue Gas Condensing

Ørsted has decided to establish a flue gas condensing system at Herning power station (HEV) owned by Ørsted Bioenergy and Thermal Power A/S. The existing boiler plant at HEV both have a grate for wood chips firing and burners for wood pellet dust / gas firing. The design nominal thermal input is 263 MWth (130 MW wood chips, 133 MW wood pellets). The boiler has an ESP (electrostatic precipitator) and a flue gas fan of its own. The purpose of this project is to improve power plant efficiency by introducing a flue gas condensation system to utilize the heat in the hot flue gas.
