The proposed works cover a 2 stage approach for stage one GRIP 5 (detail design) and stage two covers GRIP 6-8 (construction and commission) which can be awarded to one tenderer. Network Rail reserves the right, subject to funding and consents, to award the works in part or in full. Primarily, the works involve removing an existing twin track railway bridge and replacing with a new 4 track bridge, associated Civil engineering works, platform lengthening. Also upgrades to the western station entrance.
