The National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC) , Banjul , Gambia (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Borrower’) has secured grants/concessionary loans from various donor partners including the European Investment Bank – EIB (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Bank’) – towards the cost the Gambia Electricity Restoration and Modernization Project (GERMP). This International Invitation for initial selection relates to the contract for the design, supply, installation of a solar PV plant with capacity of 15-20 MW with and with battery energy storage system, including operation and maintenance for 20 years in Jambur (West Coast Region – The Gambia). It is expected that the request for proposals will be made in February 2020. The main criteria to be used in the initial selection evaluation are: financial capabilities, average annual turnover, general experience and specific design, construction and operation experience. The Borrower intends to initially select between 3 (three) and 6 (six) candidates.
