Hydrogen Electrolyser

With co-funding from the European Regional Development Fund, the University of Sheffield is establishing a flagship national Translational Energy Research Centre (TERC) and is looking to procure and integrate into a mini-grid system a range of bioenergy and renewable energy generating equipment Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS), fuel cells and electrolysers. The hydrogen generated will be utilised: (i) as fuel for a polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cell and/or fuel-cell-based micro combined heat and power (CHP) systems; (ii) additive to conventional fuels for energy generation; and (iii) for carbon dioxide utilisation applications such as liquid/gaseous fuel generation. Therefore, as part of the equipment portfolio, we are looking to procure an electrolyser capable of generating ≥ 20 Nm 3 /hr (preferably ≥ 30 Nm 3 /hr) of hydrogen and associated hydrogen storage of minimum 300 Nm 3 /h. The closing date for tender returns is at 12.00 noon on xx June 2019.
