The purpose of this prior information notice (PIN) is to inform the market of Daa’s intention to engage a baggage delivery company and/or an organisation providing courier services with equivalent capability, to provide an off-site or remote bag drop service trial for passengers at Dublin Airport. Dublin Airport has experienced strong traffic growth over the last number of years with record passenger numbers of more than 31 000 000 passengers passing through the airport in 2018. An opportunity exists to provide a new remote baggage service to Dublin Airport passengers, facilitating them to check-in hold baggage at locations outside of the airport campus. Between Oct 2018 and September 2019, Daa handled nearly 8 000 000 check-in bags through its baggage system.
