A Fleet Minor Trial (FMT) is required to test a number of commercially available ultrasonic antifouling systems onboard RN vessels. In order to further assess the viability of implementing these systems to effectively prevent biofouling on board, 3 different systems from 3 original equipment manufacturers (one supplier per vessel) will be fitted to 3 Batch 1 River Class offshore patrol vessels for the yearlong study. The trial shall last 1 year (to cover all seasons of fouling) and be focused on vessels in similar waters (for comparative fouling gradients).
