HE-ESA-003 - Enabling research and technology for LEO-PNT

The objective of this activity is the identification, definition, technical feasibility assessment and proof of concept of payload and user equipment critical technologies related to LEO PNT. The technical feasibility assessment of the identified critical technologies related to LEO PNT shall be demonstrated through the development of prototypes at Elegant Bread-Board (EBB) level. This activity belongs to Galileo/EGNOS Upstream RD which is part of the space component of Horizon Europe (i.e. an area of intervention of Cluster 4 "Digital, Industry and Space" under Pillar 2 "Global challenges and European industrial competitiveness") and aim at supporting the modernization of the EU satellite navigation Galileo and EGNOS infrastructures, both the evolutions planned today (G2G, EGNOS V3) and beyond. Under this Space Component of the Horizon Europe, in line with the signed FFPA and relevant CA, ESA is delegated by the European Commission to manage this activity and ESA adapted procurement rules apply, as per the ITT to be published (open Competition in 2 stages).
