There is a need for hypermapping of critical minerals with automated Raman and Optical microscopy. The hypermapping facility will be an essential expansion of the mineral characterisation facilities at IGP. There is a need for possibilities to characterise critical hydrated minerals such as swelling clay, talc, and zeolites that give major geological engineering challenges when building roads and energy developments.
