The objective of this procedure is to purchase state-of-the-art analyzers to measure on-road unregulated emissions from vehicles as well as hydrogen emissions. The reason behind this request is linked to the introduction of new advanced vehicle concepts like electric vehicles or that the combine electric motors with thermal engines or running on hydrogen. The new analyzers will allow the JRC to conduct pre-normative research on these vehicles looking at potential emissions currently not considered and potential gas leakages from batteries.
